Compassionate Diversity® uses three different, interrelated concepts - Comprehension, Connection, and Collaboration - to build resilience and inclusion into our organizations and our world.

What You'll Learn

Learn at your own pace! This self-guided challenge will take you through one principle each day for a week. Read the lesson. Digest it. Do the activities for the day, and at the end of the 7 days, you’ll feel empowered to connect with others on a more meaningful level and to make inclusion - and compassion -  priorities in your daily life.

If you need longer than 7 days, no worries! You'll never lose access, so you can always pick up where you left off.

Day 1: Awareness

Awareness is a broad concept. While we want to be mindful of many things as we work with Compassionate Diversity®, the most foundational piece is self-awareness.

Day 2: Authenticity

Diversity is not just about how we see other people. It's about how other people see us as well. Are we true to our word? Do our actions reflect our values? Authenticity is the action we take based on our highest values.

Day 3: Vulnerability

At its heart, diversity is about innovation. How do we bring our full selves to each and every situation so that we can connect and create the synergy we need to solve problems and develop solutions?

Day 4: Open-Mindedness

In order to engage in compassionate diversity, we need to be willing to see things from other perspectives, even if we don’t agree with them. We need to have an open mind.

Day 5: Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a key component to connecting to ourselves. Our emotions are our internal guidance system. They let us know when things are going along according to our beliefs, values, and expectations, and when they are not.

Day 6: Letting Go

The most compassionate thing we can do is not to treat others like we want to be treated, but instead, treat them as they want to be treated. This means letting go of some things, such as: preconceived notions of ourselves and others; long-held beliefs or ways of doing things; a particular path that’s no longer working.

Day 7: Continuous Learning

Compassionate Diversity is a life-long learning process. Continuous learning means:

  • We are engaged with life and with others.
  • We are committed to valuing our similarities and celebrating our differences.
  • We are committed to understanding each other and making our world more meaningful.
  • We are committed to living in a world with more compassion.
